Site CheckFeature

Know the day a deploy breaks your search traffic

Most traffic drops start with something small: a robots.txt rule, a sitemap that stopped generating, a noindex that shipped by mistake. Site Check looks for exactly those changes every day and after every deploy, so you hear about them in days rather than months.

robots.txt, Read Properly

We parse every group and rule, wildcards included, and test whether Googlebot and Bingbot can still reach your site.

Hosts and Sitemaps

We follow the http, https, www and bare versions of your homepage to where they land, and confirm your sitemaps exist and still list URLs.

Ranked by Clicks

Every finding carries the Search Console clicks of the page it affects, so the problem on your busiest template rises to the top.

What It Checks

The breaks we have seen take sites down

Site Check reads your homepage and your top pages by Search Console clicks the way a crawler first sees them: raw HTML, no scripts. It records the signals search engines act on and compares them with the previous check, so a change shows up as a change rather than as one more line in a long report.

  • A crawler blocked by robots.txt, or robots.txt no longer answering
  • A sitemap that disappeared, came back empty or lost a large share of its URLs
  • More than one host version serving the same pages
  • A noindex, a removed canonical or a canonical pointing at another host
  • Titles, headings and hreflang tags removed from important pages
  • Pages that started redirecting or returning errors
When It Runs

Every morning, and right after you ship

A check runs daily and again a couple of minutes after each recorded deploy. When a high-severity problem appears, the workspace gets an in-app notification, an email and, if you use them, a webhook. You can also start a check by hand whenever you want a second look.

  • Daily scheduled check for every connected website
  • Automatic check after each deploy you record
  • Alerts in the app, by email and by webhook
  • A mobile lab performance test of the homepage on each run

Site Check: questions and answers

Does Site Check change anything on my site?

No. It only reads public pages, robots.txt and sitemaps, the same way a search engine does. Nothing in the product writes to your site or your connected accounts.

How is this different from a full crawl?

Site Check is fast and narrow: robots.txt, sitemaps, hosts and your most important pages, every day. Site Crawl is broad: it walks the whole site on a slower cycle and looks for dozens of page-level issues. They are meant to run together.

Which pages does it look at?

Your homepage and the pages that earn the most clicks in Search Console. Those are the pages where a mistake costs the most, so they are the ones we check every day.

Will it alert me about every small change?

No. Alerts go out for high-severity problems such as a blocked crawler, a lost sitemap or a noindex on a page that earns clicks. Smaller changes are listed in the dashboard and in the digest email.
