We build the tool we wished we had
RankDebug started with a traffic drop on a large classifieds site. We worked out by hand what had happened: part of the drop was a reporting change on Google’s side, and the rest came from a frontend migration that had shipped without a sitemap, with a robots.txt that blocked the wrong sections, and with a firewall turning crawlers away. Every clue was available from outside the site. Nobody had looked until six months later.
The tools we had did not help much. Search Console showed the drop, a crawler showed a long list of issues, and the release history lived somewhere else. Nothing connected the three, and nothing said which problem was worth fixing first.
So we built it. RankDebug keeps your search data, records what changes on your site and when, and connects them, so the next drop is explained in days. We focus on marketplaces, classifieds, directories and other sites where a single template change reaches thousands of pages, and we make sure it works for small sites too.
How we work
Read-Only, Always
Every connection we ask for is read-only. We diagnose; you and your engineers decide what to change.
History Is the Asset
We never delete the data we pull. The longer we hold it, the further back an investigation can go.
Clicks, Not Counts
A list of a thousand issues is not a plan. Everything we report carries the clicks it affects.
Honest About Limits
Estimates are labelled as estimates, thin data is called thin, and features still being built say so.
