Google Analytics
Connect Google Analytics with read-only access to see what search visitors did after they landed.
Search Console tells you who clicked. Google Analytics tells you what those visitors did next, so a page can be valued by the key events and revenue it brings in rather than by clicks alone.
Access
RankDebug asks Google for one scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonlyThat is read-only access to the Google Analytics properties your account can see.
Connecting
- On Connections, click Connect Google Analytics and approve access on Google's screen.
- Choose the property that measures this website.
What is pulled
- Sessions, engaged sessions, key events and users by landing page and channel.
- Key events by landing page and event name.
- Purchases and purchase revenue by landing page, when the property records ecommerce.
- Sessions, engaged sessions, key events and revenue by channel group and by source and medium.
The first pull reaches back about 14 months, a month at a time. After that it syncs daily and pulls the last three days again.
What it powers
On the Overview, a landing page table shows sessions per page, summed across channels or for organic search only, with the key events and revenue its organic sessions led to.
Beside it, Measurement Health says whether the analytics data can be trusted over the last 28 days. It checks that data is still arriving, that key events are recorded, the share of sessions from organic search, the share left unassigned to any channel, and how well landing pages match the pages Search Console reports. A failing check is a reason to fix tracking before reading too much into the numbers.
